Reviews from my Students

Merle
Robin is a highly accomplished performer and teacher.  For beginning students, she is very thorough with the basics, ensuring that only good habits are formed from the start.  When teaching more advanced students, Robin's extensive and varied performing experience guides students of all levels to greatly expand their skills and repertoire.

Robin Frye was an exceptional teacher, focusing on my personal needs and interests in the piano.  As a retired art school director, I was a piano student in my early years, 9-17 years, and decided to start again after retiring at 65.  She was thoughtful, brilliant in theory and always patient with me.  She had a vast musical library so was able to get copies of scores easily.  If I mentioned a work I had heard and wanted to play, she availed me of the sheet music to try.  Her year of lessons always culminates in a recital of all her students, which is a good exercise in coping with fear and stress.  All in all, I would recommend her highly to anyone starting out or coming back to the piano after some years away.  She focuses I think on beginning piano students, which I wasn’t, and intermediate piano students, which I am.

I have studied voice with Robin for about a year and a half.  I am an experienced choral singer, but it wasn't until I started studying with Robin that I realized how much more I was capable of.  I have noticed a tremendous difference in my vocal production in this short time.  Robin will apply her knowledge of vocal anatomy, her listening and diagnosing skills - and her own vast vocal experience to help you be the best singer you can be, no matter what style of music you sing.
